真!挖比特幣的概念跟馴鹿繁衍的方式差不多喔!

 


叮叮噹、叮叮噹!今天是 #聖誕節 也是 #行憲紀念日 喔!
不知道大家有沒有出去瘋⭐狂⭐派⭐對慶祝憲法誕生呢?
還是跟科科一樣要繼續加班......嗚嗚...
好啦,無論怎麼過聖誕節,今天就是要開心一點過啦!
所以今天就來聊聊跟聖誕節很有關係的虛擬貨幣(x) 馴鹿(o)。

你知道嗎?馴鹿交配繁衍的方式跟挖礦虛擬貨幣,尤其像是以太幣或彼特幣非常像喔!
或許你會覺得這種類比有點詭異,但這卻是最好的方式去解釋「虛擬幣如何挖礦」。

首先,公馴鹿會互相競爭並打贏對手,強大的馴鹿可以獲得跟一隻、數隻、超級多隻母馴鹿後宮繁衍後代的機會。紀錄上可以多達15個老婆。
而虛擬貨幣挖礦機也是會互相競爭,不過競爭的是比誰比較快算出超級困難的數學問題,只要算出來,就會產生虛擬幣,所以強大且速度快的電腦就可以獲得跟很多繁衍...我是說...獲得更多比特幣。
所以挖礦機跟公馴鹿一樣,為了獲得更多後代(彼特幣/小馴鹿),就必須讓自己比對手都來的更強大更快速才可以。而為了變得更強大,公馴鹿會吃下更多的食物、鍛鍊更強大的肉體來維持優勢;相對的,挖礦機就是需要更多的 #電力 來支撐更強大的 #硬體 來維持挖礦優勢。
就跟進化論一樣,因為強大的馴鹿有更多繁衍的機會,所以野生的馴鹿就越來越大隻,目前最大的阿拉斯加駝鹿可以高兩公尺、角長1.8公尺。當然牠所需要的食物就越來越多。所以在更多草跟食物的地方,那裏的馴鹿就盡可能越大隻,直到食物無法再支撐其消耗量。
而虛擬貨幣挖礦機也是相同的,也有屬於自己的進化論,哪裡有更多更便宜的能源(電),那裏就會有更多的挖礦機,並越來越強大(硬體更新),這也是電費便宜的中國北方與俄羅斯西伯利亞有越來越多的挖礦機。跟馴鹿一樣,挖礦機也會極盡可能的把電都消耗光光直到電廠無法支撐為止。但人類不像麋鹿,消耗完就停止,而是會想辦法蓋更多電廠 (等於消耗更多天然資源) 之類就是。
只要虛擬貨幣有價值的一天,挖礦機就會想辦法強化並繁衍下去。只是它們吃的不是草跟排放大便;而是石油、核能跟天然氣等等等跟排放這些造成的空氣、核汙染等就是。

笑?刷牙跟XX一樣根本都是假議題對吧?!

 


 雖然大家從小就被教育要早晚(在學校可能多個中午)刷牙,但肯定有聽過這種例子:「某某人幾乎都不刷牙,也沒看他牙齒爛掉啊!」到底不刷牙會怎樣呢?要是決定從今天開始不刷牙呢?在吃了一大堆冬令進補的食物後,討論這個話題是最適合不過啦!

人們一天至少花2分鐘刷牙 (假設一次只花一分鐘隨便刷),想想一輩子不知道花掉多少時間在這上面,更不用談至今不知道吃下了多少的氟化物。假設今天有個人決定開始不刷牙,以下是將會發生在他身上的事情──
一天後:口腔中數以百萬計的壞細菌得以倖存並開始形成 #牙菌斑,並使細菌更容易附著在牙齒上與增生。
一周後:細菌的衍生物堆積下,口氣開始產生變異,讓他人主動維持至少1.5公尺的 #社交距離。另一方面,牙菌斑也開始變硬與形成牙結石,牙結石也將多到直接把牙齒從白變深黃色。
30天後:先說聲恭喜,因為從不刷牙上省下了兩小時(假設刷一次牙兩分鐘)。然後剩下的是壞消息......先不管美觀跟味道了;臼齒上開始出現黑黑小小的蛀洞,甚至可能開始化膿。然後便是牙齦紅腫發炎,這讓吃東西開始變得酸酸痛痛不這麼滿足了。
一年後:這樣人生已經省下了24小時,哇喔!從此人生多了一天呢!但人生也多了另外一個東西──#牙周病。本來包覆牙齒的牙齦開始退縮並露出牙根,露出來的洞洞將會堆積更多的細菌與殘渣。這些黏住牙齦的細菌與殘渣讓身體的#免疫系統 將牙齦當作了 #壞份子 開始攻擊牙齦,並讓牙齦開始嚴重退化 (對,免疫系統其實有些時候都是幫倒忙),結局就是掉牙齒啦!
更之後:你以為掉牙齒是最終結局嗎?錯!口腔問題有極大機率會演變成慢性阻塞性肺病與肺炎。(Scannapieco et al., 2003)。更有科學家指出牙周病是導致#胰島素抗拮 與 #糖尿病前期 的正相關因素之一,另外反向也有正相關(Gurav, 2012; Negrato et al., 2013) 如果以上這些都嚇不倒你,那科科有個更壞的消息──科學家在30~40歲的男性病患中發現 #慢性牙周病與性功能障礙有極高正向關聯性!(Oguz et al., 2012; Zuo et al., 2011; 給那些問為什麼的人:科學家提出可能是因為口腔慢性發炎導致陰莖海綿體中的eNOS與NOS減少,這樣)

當然,刷牙這麼重要,那古人跟其他有牙齒的動物到底怎麼活下來的? 其實一方面是古人的食物沒現代這麼精緻跟甜,另一方面其實古人也有乖乖清潔牙齒喔!在西元前5000年的埃及人就用牙粉清潔牙齒了,而西元前3500年的巴比倫人也有用潔牙棒的習慣,當然在西元前1600年的漢人也有用牙刷的紀錄喔!至於其他動物就更多元化了:很多動物像鯊魚牙齒會一直長,所以壞了也不怕;很多動物像是草食動物吃的東西很難形成牙菌斑;也有動物會互相幫忙清牙齒,像是 #埃及鱷魚鳥 幫鱷魚潔牙。所以請不要再拿古人跟動物當不刷牙藉口啦!

Terrible! Not just cardiovascular disease risks increased by eating too much high-fat food?



Eating a high-fat high-protein meal after getting off work or a greasy brunch on holidays has always been the first choice to relieve stress. Normally, after big meal, we might just concern about #diabetes or #obesity. But recently, scientists in the United States discovered that after eating a large amount of saturated fat meal, the concentration would decrease significantly. (Madison, 2020)


Scientists made a group of people to eat highly saturated fatty oil (animal oil) and another group of people to eat unsaturated fatty oil (like sunflower oil), then do the concentration test. As a result, they found the high saturated fat group had significantly reduced concentration, cognitive function and responsiveness.

Everyone must have heard of the theory that "eating too much, blood will flow to the stomach and cause sleepiness." But the truth is a nerve system effects our brain, which is " #Gut-Brain-Axis ". This
Gut-Brain Axis passes from the brain to the stomach and intestines, and allows the brain to receive a large amount of information from the stomach, and even the message of microbes in the stomach to affect the judgment or even our mood, so it is also called Microbiota-Gut-Brain Axis.(Appleton, 2018)

So the next time you eat a big meal, not only think about whether you will gain weight, but also think about whether your mind will become slow!

MILK! Dare to say whole milk is not good, time to face the fury of scientists! An epic revenge crossing 21 countries during 9 years! (Dramatic effect)




 There are many different opinions about the dairy products. Some people say you will get cancer by drinking cow milk, and others elaborate it can make you taller. In addition to the endless war between the fans of plant-based dairy and the fans of animal-based dairy, many "gunpowder" have been added within. Wow! Drinking coffee could prevent Type II diabetes?

So technically, consuming coffee could help to lose your weight as well. Additionally, it could reduce the risk of coronary artery disease.
Furthermore, you drink more, it works better! Who consume >6 cups of coffee per day have the lowest risk of diabetes compared to other people. (Salazar-Martinez, 2004)
The scientists also indicated that decaf coffee and tea are as good as normal coffee as well. (Dam, 2006)

BUT! Please, pay attention! These researches were based on black coffee or espresso without any sugar or milk, which might ironically increase the risk. Moreover, what kind of substance makes coffee work on preventing diabetes is unknown, so please drinking coffee directly, instead of taking extract of coffee or caffeine. (Huxley, 2009)
If you are an Asian, you might consider your gene is not suitable for too much coffee as well. It might cause palpitations. No! Diabetes mellitus might increase the risk of COVID-19 infection?


In May, #COVID19 (a.k.a. SARS-CoV2 and #Coronavirus) is still wildly torturing the world. Although the #pandemic is slowing down, we still need to be vigilant, especially diabetes patients. Because some scientists indicate that #obesity, #hypertension and #diabetes patients might be easier to be infected by COVID-19. (The Economist, 2020) Compared to other COVID-19 patients, the lung of diabetes COVID-19 patients shows more severe pathological change. (Fig. below, Guo et al., 2020)
The reason might be the medicine of diabetes mellitus and hypertension, because these medicines can increase the number of a human cellular receptor, #ACE2, which is also the receptor for COVID-19 to infect human cells. (Fang, Karakiulakis and Rotha, 2020) However, it is really dangerous to stop taking the medication, so dont do that.

There are some tips given from medical specialists for diabetes mellitus, except personal hygiene and avoiding the crowd. (Gupta et al.,2020)
1. It is important that people with diabetes maintain a good glycaemic control, as it might help in reducing the risk of infection and also the severity. More frequent monitoring of blood glucose levels is required.
2. Patients with diabetes and co-existing heart disease or kidney disease need special care and attempts should be made to stabilise their cardiac/renal status.
3. Attention to nutrition and adequate protein intake is important. Any deficiencies of minerals and vitamins need to be taken care of.
4. Exercise has been shown to improve immunity, but do it at home or alone.
5. It is important to take influenza and pneumonia vaccinations. The latter may decrease chances of secondary bacterial pneumonia after respiratory viral infection, however, data in present viral epidemic is not available.

Anyway, to end this pandemic, cooperation of everyone is required. Keeping good personal hygiene, avoiding the crowded place and following the government advice and roles could be helpful. The pandemic will be over soon!
